Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt
The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) is a place of good learning, teaching, and living. It stands for excellent teaching, strong research, and responsible action—in short: knowledge with added value. For more than 40 years, the KU has been a state-recognized university, supported by a foundation under church law, the spirit, ideas, and commitment of its members.
The KU is a cosmopolitan and internationally networked university. In addition to its strategic partnerships, it maintains collaborations with almost 300 partner universities in over 60 countries worldwide. It promotes the international mobility of its scientists, teachers, staff, and students.
Currently, 1,118 students are studying to become teachers at the KU, which accounts for approximately 25 percent of all KU students. This makes teacher training students the largest group of students at the KU. Prof. Dr. Klaudia Schultheis (Chair of Primary School Education and Primary School Didactics), Prof. Dr. Heiner Böttger (Chair of Didactics of English Language and Literature), and Jun.-Prof. Dr. Barbara Lenzgeiger (Junior Chair of Primary School Education and Didactics) are responsible for managing and coordinating the Teacher Academy Smart Start at KU. Nils Böttger is responsible for project management.
